# Ackless privacy policy

This policy describes how the Ackless browser extension (“Ackless”) handles information. It applies to the extension distributed by obambulo studio, last updated 7 May 2026.

## Summary

Ackless does not run analytics, does not sell personal information, and does not transmit the addresses of pages you visit or the full text of pages to obambulo studio or other remote services as part of ordinary operation. Processing happens locally in your browser.

## What Ackless processes on your device

To hide acknowledgement blocks and optionally adjust displayed place names, Ackless reads the live web page in your browser and inspects a limited portion of the DOM and visible text. That work stays on your device.

## What is stored locally

Ackless may keep small pieces of information in your browser’s extension storage, for example whether the extension is enabled, which hostnames you have opted in, and simple aggregate hide counters. These values are not synchronized to obambulo studio servers by the extension itself.

## Permissions

Ackless requests only the permissions it needs: storage for settings and counters, and access to the active tab so you can opt the current site in from the popup.

## Third parties

Ackless does not embed third-party advertising trackers or analytics SDKs for extension telemetry. Browser stores may process technical or account information under their own policies.
